| Poem counts - 2010-05-27 Some interesting stats. Shows how things can accumulate over the years if you just go slow but steady ...
Poems written per decade:
1980s: 518
1990s: 208
2000s: 787
2010s: oops, none yet!
Total Published (all years): 391
Yes, a few of these were self-published, but I'm not counting all the duplicates that have been published more than once, so it should balance out.
|
| Story counts - 2010-05-27 Some stats on my short stories:
Written: 337 stories; total 640,000 words
Published: 136 stories; total 192,000 words
Some percent of the stories are either too old to submit, or stuck in my "need work" limbo. Others just don't fit in with any market I can find, or have just been bouncing around for years with no luck. Okay, it's not like I send them out every week. Some have only been submitted two or three times, they just aren't high priorities.

| 7 stories in one day? - 2009-06-07 Here's an odd item ... folks buggered off and left me alone on Memorial Day. I sat down, banged out two flash fiction pieces, took a walk, came up with a short story ... and by day's end had 7 new stories. Sure, they were all under 1,800 words each, but they're all good enough to submit, and it felt nice to have a creative day after months of stress and baloney.

Cool milestones: in 1997 I wrote my 200th story.
And in 1999 I wrote my 500,000th word of short fiction. Half a million
words, and my fingers are still going. The human body is quite a miraculous
thing. You'd think I'd be tired by now.
